IT IS YOUR LIFE!

There are a few things in life that really matter! My daddy at 87 years old was diagnosed with the final stage of bone cancer and died later that year. In our conversations before his death, I remember him saying multiple times, “I wonder, have I done my best for Jesus?” What God wants from us more than anything else is simple trust in his provision for our righteousness. But, nonetheless, what he had done in his life was finalized. There will be a day, and it comes quickly when all that you were going to do or wanted to do or did is finalized! There is an appointed day for everyone!

Heb 9:27-28 Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

It is so important not to miss the opportunities God has given us in this life! I remember TD Jakes once saying, “One of the scariest thoughts I have ever pondered is the thought of missing my time.” Sometimes you are blessed with keys that can unlock the purposes and destiny of God’s plan for you. What you do with those keys can mean life or death.

Prov 4:13  Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life.

Deuteronomy 30:20 NLT You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

My daddy used to say, “Only one life twill soon be passed, only what’s done for Christ will last.”  Loving God and obeying him is a result of, like a child, receiving his abundant love and grace displayed by the cross and the blood of Jesus. We can never truly love or obey God without first receiving the power to do so which means giving ourselves over to the life of receiving, and living in, his wonderful love! It is not what we work up, but rather what we soak up!

What are you doing with the keys you have been given? Hold fast to them! They are your life! Understanding this is of utmost importance!...
