TRUE PRAYER

One who lives a lifestyle of true prayer always ends up with a life that displays the nature and love of God! When you spend time with him – you become like him! The word of God declares that Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray. (Lk 5:16) For Jesus, this was not an exercise of religiosity, but rather precious moments of intimacy with his Father!

Intimacy with God is not only enjoyable but prepares you for all that is ahead in your life by giving you the heart and wisdom of God. Apostle Peter said, "The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 1Pet 4:7-8 NIV

One of the signs of someone who experiences real prayer is the act of covering for the sins of those around them; Why? It is because they obtain the heart of God and he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked! (Lk 6:35) Those who experience religiosity and not true prayer will display a life of gossip, slander, and judgment. Apostle James says, "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1Jn 4:7–8

When we get close to God, we get filled with the love of God! The world desperately needs this and how much we receive will determine how much we can give away!

1 Jn 4:16–17 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world, we are like Jesus.

There must be a significant deposit before there is ever a significant withdrawal.  Love does not come from trying hard; rather it comes from God! You will never work it up – you must soak it up!  You can be sure that there is no substitute for taking time to be in God's presence! You need it; the world needs it, – I believe it is time for…
