IT’S TIME TO DIVE IN!
The Bible lets us know that Stephen was a man full of the Holy Spirit and full of faith. (Acts 6:5) He was a man dedicated to Christ and his mission! While Stephen was still young and the message of Christ was rapidly advancing, there were those who hated the message of Christ and drug Stephen before the authorities. Stephen, filled with the Holy Spirit, spoke to them with absolute clarity and power, and all those who saw him could not deny the reality of God’s power upon him.
Acts 6:15 All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel. (NIV)
This must have been a compelling moment… A moment of the glory of God visiting the very flesh of a human being. Just moments later, Stephen would be stoned to death and see God face to face. He was so caught up in the glory of God – I believe he saw God before his spirit ever left his body.
Acts 7:55-56 NIV But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. “Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” (NIV)
Wow! To be a fly on the wall at that moment! God is longing to do great things in our day! He is looking for those who are committed to his purpose and through whom he can declare his glory! Are you willing to be one of those? Let the faith of God rising you today! Set your hope fully in God alone! Our best is yet to come! It’s time to go all out…
