Jesus made a profound statement when he said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Mt 11:28–30)The only place you will find true peace and rest is in Christ. From the beginning, God desired to bring us into his eternal place of rest. It was God’s plan, that from that place of rest, we would launch out to fulfill his grand purpose for our lives.

According to the word of God, Joshua was unable to bring the children of Israel to this eternal place of rest. So when speaking of rest, God spoke of another time and another day that his eternal rest would be available and he called that day TODAY! The incredible plan of the rest of God is available to you today… Check this out:

Hebrews 4:7-10 (NLT) So God set another time for entering his rest, and that time is today. God announced this through David much later in the words already quoted: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.” Now if Joshua had succeeded in giving them this rest, God would not have spoken about another day of rest still to come. So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.

God is longing for you to enter the place where he lives, the blissful place of peace and rest! Trying to deserve this wonderful life will be counterproductive; the key to unlocking this life is humbly receiving what has been provided through Christ. Will you receive? The life of faith is now! The season of God’s rest is available and, by the way…
