THE QUIET PLACE

In the Bible, oil often refers to the Holy Spirit, His power and His anointing. Jesus often went to the Mount of Olives or Gethsemane, as it was often called, to pray and be with His Father. The word "Gethsemane" means "Oil Press" or "Olive Press." Gethsemane, to Jesus, was the quiet place where he would pray and meet with God to have intimate relationship with his Father and to fill himself up with his Father's power and purpose. Intimate communication with God causes a pressing on your life to bring out of you that inner purpose instilled within you before the creation of the world! The last time Jesus went to the Mount of olives was right before he was crucified. Here is the account.

Matthew 26:36-40 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray." He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me." Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter.

The quiet place where you meet with God is where the oil or anointing of God is manifested. This is why Jesus often went to the Mount of olives or a quiet place to pray.

Luke 5:16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

The power for Jesus to finish his mission to the very end was found at Gethsemane. This is why God also wants to meet you at Gethsemane. He wants you to come, take your time and soak. He longs to bless you with His presence and power! God’s kingdom, power, and purpose can only be accessed through intimacy and communion with him.

One of the secrets to long life is having purpose and meaning, something that drives you, something that pushes you to get out of the bed in the morning and get going. This is what is found in God’s presence! God desires for you to experience his life of fulfillment and purpose. This kind of life is found during those quiet times where you soak in the presence of God.

There is no better time than today there is no better person than you. Here’s my question for you: Will you make some special time to be with God today? Don’t let it be complicated - because it is not! Don’t try to figure God out - because you can’t! Just receive! He is ready to speak to you! Today is your day, and God is looking forward to meeting you at…
