BREAKING THE WHOLE LAW!

Have you ever met someone who genuinely thought that they were better than everybody else? It doesn’t feel good to be around somebody like that, does it? But, all too often, that same, creepy spirit tries to come in and control those who genuinely love Jesus. Maybe we don’t think we're better than everybody else but, nonetheless, see ourselves as better than some because of the rules we are following or the “good works” we are doing. A careful look at the Scripture clearly lets us know otherwise!

James 2:10 “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.”

Rom 3:9-18  Well then, should we conclude that we Jews are better than others? No, not at all, for we have already shown that all people, whether Jews or Gentiles, are under the power of sin. The more we realize how much we have been forgiven and how far we fall short of God’s glory, the more we will find ourselves empowering and encouraging each other instead of tearing others down by our self-righteousness! Based upon the Scriptures, it would be wise not to ever look down on another, but rather in prayerfulness, love, and compassion, gently restore a brother or sister who has sinned or is sinning. Gal 6:1 It is vital to remember that outside of the blood of Jesus, we all would be lost and without hope! Indeed, as James 2:10 pointedly declares, we would be rightly charged of…
