HE CAN USE YOU!

Merry Christmas my Encouraging Notes family! One of the most intriguing things is how God chooses the most unlikely for his highest purposes. Do you remember the story when the prophet Samuel was going to picking you king over Israel? He went to the house of Jesse to anoint one of his sons as king. All the sons were brought before the prophet from the eldest first to the youngest – with the exception of David. David, a shepherd boy, was so unimportant and unlikely that he was left out in the fields during this most momentous occasion. After the prophet had gone through each of the boys, he said, “Are these all the sons you have?”

“There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered. “He is tending the sheep.” Samuel said, “Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.”

1 Samuel 16:11

You know the story - David was chosen to be the king of Israel! The one who was considered unworthy to be at the occasion to nominate the new king would eventually be king and the one they would call the father of Jesus Christ. Luke 1:32 Ironically, at the coming of Jesus, God chose to use the most unlikely again – shepherds. It was to these humble men that God sent his angel to reveal the arrival of Jesus Christ.

Luke 2:8-15 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13  Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15  When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

If you’ve ever felt like you are someone too insignificant for God to use, think again! I love it! Christmas is a reminder of how God uses what seems insignificant to bring about his most powerful works! I pray that you will let this thought sink deeply into your heart! I love the song that says, “If you can use anything Lord, you can use me. If you can use anything Lord, you can use me. Take my hands Lord and my feet – touch my heart Lord speak through me. If you can use anything Lord, you can use me.”

Oh, yes! This is your season – this is your time to prosper! This is your moment to launch out and fulfill the wonderful things God has prepared for you to accomplish! During this Christmas season, please don’t forget this most important point; If God can use anything,

HE CAN USE YOU!
