MAKING GOALS AND ACHIEVING THEM (PART 2)

One of the secrets to achieving success is having absolute precision and clarity about what you want to achieve! I have heard one of the great preachers  and entrepreneurs of our day, TD Jakes, say that he took time early on in his life to date himself. In other words, he took the time to get before God to know who he was created to be. You must know you before you will know what to do. One of the greatest mistakes people make in life is to live their life based upon how others would perceive them. This is a surefire way to miss what God has for you. TD Jakes is a phenomenal man of God, but if I were to compare myself with him, it would detract from all that God wants me to be. He is where he is because he learned to accept his own unique calling and God-given abilities. Take a moment to soak on this scripture.

2 Corinthians 10: Not that we [have the audacity to] venture to class or [even to] compare ourselves with some who exalt and furnish testimonials for themselves! However, when they measure themselves with themselves and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding and behave unwisely.  (AMP)

When we measure ourselves with other people, it will either discourage us or cause us to live below our full potential. You must find out what you love and what you want to do with your life, without comparing it to others and their achievements or lack thereof. This is the life of freedom and opens you up to a new joy for setting goals and making plans. Today is the day for you to choose to let go of what others think of you and to begin to date yourself, living closely with God Almighty who lives in you by his Holy Spirit. God wants you to prosper! He wants to come alongside you as you are…
