FAITH
If you look at successful people in history, you will notice characteristics in them that are similar. One of those common threads that seem to link these successful people together is the characteristic of FAITH. So, what is faith? The writer of Hebrews describes faith in this way, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 The mirror Bible states in this way, “Persuasion confirms confident expectation and proves the unseen world to be more real than the scene. Faith celebrates as certain what hope visualizes as future.
Faith is a substance on the inside that declares the reality of something that is not yet physically visible. It is being absolutely assured of what cannot be seen. It is the place of total trust. Faith is the willingness to step out and do something that looks impossible because you’ve already seen it on the inside. For those who will do great things, it will be necessary to leave what is safe and enter into what is faith! If you want to grow in life, you must GO in life!
A successful life is made up of risks, and risk-takers are the ones who will fulfill their God-given destiny! Greatness is the result of a series of risk-taking adventures! Many times, the hardest part of doing what God is calling you to do is taking the first step. It takes faith to take the first step. Look at these powerful scriptures:
Mark 9:23 “What do you mean, ‘If I can?’” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” (NLT)
Hebrews 11:6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. (NLT)
1 John 5:4 For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (NIV)
We might be tempted to think that good works is what pleases God, but the truth is, FAITH is what pleases God! If it is true faith, it will always have a corresponding action. Many things will have a significant impact on your future but none of those as critical as FAITH.
