VISION

The third characteristic of a dreamer is VISION. Vision is intimately linked to faith in that it is the ability to see the unseen. Every great accomplishment in life, from a grand palace to a magnificent painting, was first conceived in the mind. Vision is the inspiration on the inside that causes you to birth something into the physical realm! You have to see something on the inside before you can ever obtain it on the outside. This is why prayer and meditation upon the things of God are indispensable! Those areas of real significance will be manifest in the quietness of your soul during those moments of intimacy with God.

I am always inspired and challenged by the fact that Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray. Luke 5:16 The word of God tells us that God calls those things that are not as though they already were. Rom 4:17 A life of prayer and intimacy with God will cause you to see things that are not as though they already were. This is vision. Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish." The Hebrew word for “perish" means to have no restraint or discipline in life. Vision is what causes a person to be energized for a task. Vision is what causes a person to want to jump out of bed and get busy. Vision is what causes an ordinary person to become extraordinary!

It is crucial to pray and ask God for the next step in your life. Once you know God's purpose for you, you must keep that vision before you every single day! The habit of maintaining that vision before you every day will be the secret to a life of success and significance! I have often heard people expound on the idea that the grave is the richest place on earth. So many great ideas are there – so many books that never got written are there – so many songs and wonderful words of poetry never made it because the vision was never kept alive. A vision must be something that you act upon every single day! The price you will need to pay for great future is your actions of today! The secret to your future will be purposefully rooted in your daily routine! This is why it is so critical to live in the now! Don’t wait till tomorrow to take a step towards what God has for you! This kind of procrastination brings about a purposeless life!

Do you have a dream for your life? What is it? Take the time to date yourself—know who you are. Don’t compare your dream with any other person’s dream! This is one of the greatest mistakes of all! If you don’t know where to begin, start with a little dream and start moving towards it! Yes! Start moving! This will bring excitement to your life! The Bible is clear that God has plans for you! Jeremiah 29:11 Take time to get alone with God to hear his precious thoughts regarding you and his wonderful plan for your future. The vision that God has for your life will be wrapped up in solving problems for others! God’s vision for your life will lead you into a truly meaningful life of serving humanity! Get ready!
