One of the greatest hindrances to those who want to live inside of God’s life is that of a defiled conscience. People want to experience God but feel like God will not accept them because of their sin. The prophet Isaiah said, “Your iniquity has separated you from God.” Isaiah 59:2 The word iniquity means wicked thoughts. When we think we can be right with God by works – this is a wicked thought and keeps us from God. Trying to obey the law by living up to its rules and standards was never God's answer for our lives and can never make us right with him! Everything we do outside of trusting Christ is fruitless and even dangerous! The only way we find real life and the ability to release that life to others is through faith in Christ and his shed blood!  

Hebrews 9:9 This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper.  

Romans 5:16 And the result of God's gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man's sin. For Adam's sin led to condemnation, but God's free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins. (NLT) 

Even the horrific sacrifices and blood of animals was not enough to cleanse the consciences of those who sought to worship God. Only faith in the blood of Jesus and surrender to the forever settled truth of God’s sacrifice of Jesus and his blood can cleanse us and make us free from guilt and shame! Surrendering to the fact that your sin and failure have been fully paid for and that you are already forgiven because of the blood of Jesus removes all guilt and shame.  

No external work of obedience to the commands of God can cleanse your conscience and make you right with God! A relationship with God requires a clear conscience that is built upon an honest confession of those things that are plaguing our conscience and a complete surrender to the finished work of Christ on the cross to make us right with God!  

Today is your day to leave the life of slavery to the works of the law and, therefore, condemnation and by faith enter into the righteousness of Christ offered to us by God! Living in this state of complete perfection in God’s sight enters you into the euphoric and abundant life of Christ. Oh yes! How exciting! Yes – It is your time to dive deeper into the most precious and rewarding life of all – the life found within…
