There are no words to describe how important and valuable it is to have an intimate relationship with God. Christianity, without intimacy with God, is like having a meal without food. It is like clouds that bring no rain. Christianity, at its root, is intimacy with God! Only precious intimacy with God can bring about the fulfillment of God’s greatest desires. Do you know that God’s greatest desire is you? God longs for you to experience the depth of his love! Look at these powerful words from King David to his son Solomon.

“And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. So take this seriously. The Lord has chosen you to build a Temple as his sanctuary. Be strong, and do the work.”

1 Chronicles 28:9-10 NLT

The notion that we can have intimacy with God is mind-blowing! How can one fathom being intimate with the creator of the universe? How valuable are we to God? His love for us is so off the charts that the depths are beyond finding out! King David was blown away by this thought and penned these words, “When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—the moon and the stars you set in place— 4 what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? 5 Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor. 6 You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority— 7 the flocks and the herds and all the wild animals, 8 the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents. 9 O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name, fills the earth! Ps 8:3-9 (NLT)

Right now, as you are reading this Encouraging Note, God’s heart is longing for you! He longs to be kind to you – he wants to show you the passion he has for you! The following Scripture shows us God’s heart and what he is like.

Isa 30:18 Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!

Oh, that we would know how precious we are to God! Oh, that we would trust enough to let him lead us down his paths! We all know that there is no gain without pain! You go through things in life for a reason! God understands this fully and is trying to teach you great and mighty things that you don’t know yet! Surrender to, and embrace his love for you!
