WHOSE OPINION ARE YOU TRUSTING IN?

When we accept the praise that comes from people, we could make ourselves vulnerable to the criticism and judgment of people. What people thought about Jesus, good or bad, was not important to him; Jesus found his value in what God, and only God, thought about him! When we discover our value only in what God thinks, it causes us to rise to a higher level, and the praise and criticism of man lose its power. If you depend the praise of men, you are bound to their opinion and, therefore, the criticism that will also come. Listen to Jesus' words…

John 5:41-44  "I do not accept praise from men, but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts. I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.  How can you believe if you accept praise from one another, yet make no effort to obtain the praise that comes from the only God?

Putting your trust in God alone is the life of freedom! Many destroy their lives worrying about the opinion of friends, coworkers and family. They arduously

work to impress everybody with their possessions and achievements only to find out that it is never good enough!

What about you? What are you trusting in? The old song says, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow so strangely dim, in the light of his glory and grace."  Think about it……
