THOSE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD Part 51

“Those who know their God will be strong and do great things.” Dan 11:32

WHAT DO PEOPLE DO TO KNOW GOD?

God is in love with you and me! His kingdom is forcefully advancing and forceful people are laying hold of it. Matthew 11:12 I am so excited about what is getting ready to take place amongst those who believe God!

As we have studied the kingdom of God, we have determined that the kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Romans 14:17 We’ve also learned that the kingdom of God is the rule and reign of the Holy Spirit in the hearts and minds of those who believe.

Today I want to begin discussing another way in which the kingdom of God is crucial to your life. When John the Baptist showed up at the beginning of the transition from the old covenant to the new covenant, his message was, “Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 3:2 Jesus also began his ministry preaching the same message as John the Baptist. Matthew 4:17  Once, while being questioned by the Pharisees about the kingdom of God, Jesus said, “The Kingdom of God can’t be detected by visible signs. 21 You won’t be able to say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘It’s over there!’ For the Kingdom of God is already among you.” Luke 17:20-21. (NLT) Jesus was declaring to the Pharisees that there was a very real spiritual realm among them flowing through him. Later on, Jesus said to those same Pharisees, “If I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” Matthew 12:28 Jesus did not say that if he drove out demons by the Spirit of God, then God’s power had come upon them. No! He said that if he drove out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God had come upon them.

So, how was it that Jesus did miracles? Acts 10:38 says this, “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil because God was with him.”

It is essential to note that Jesus did not do miracles because he was God. Jesus did miracles because God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and power. Jesus was doing miracles because the kingdom of God was operating through him. Remember, the kingdom of God is the rule and the reign of the Holy Spirit in the hearts and minds of those who believe. Why is this so important? It is important because we, as the body of Christ, are now living in the kingdom age. The kingdom of God is synonymous with the Holy Spirit. So, here’s a question for you – Was the Spirit of God that did miracles through Jesus the same Spirit that lives in you? I hope you don’t miss tomorrow because tomorrow we will discuss the transference of the kingdom…
