WHAT DO PEOPLE DO TO KNOW GOD?

It is our consciences and souls that determine whether we live free and filled with love or not. God deeply cares about you, and he deeply cares about your soul! God wants you to live in his extraordinary life! The life that God gives us is a life that is full of peace and rest. We often see throughout the Bible, God saying, don’t be afraid, don’t be discouraged, don’t worry or be anxious, etc. Jesus said, “Come to me all you who are weary, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 The life God has ordained for you is completely free – free from worry, fear, anxiety, shame, and condemnation. This is why the writer of Hebrews said, “Let us make every effort to enter that rest.” Hebrews 4:10 It is essential to remember that grace is never opposed to effort but is always opposed to earning. Nothing we receive from God can be worked up – it must be soaked up! Therefore, your effort is to surrender, with a childlike heart, to the truth that will make you free! Your effort must be to set your mind and heart on things above so that you can experience the transformation the truth offers you.

When Adam and Eve partook of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, it bound them and therefore us to the world of self. Trusting in self is what produces fear, anxiety, worry, and the like. Because of God’s great love for us, he sent Jesus to come to deliver us from damaged souls and consciences. I hope you can wrap your mind around this because what it means is that God deeply cares about you in every way, including how you feel! God longs for you to live his life that is filled with love, joy, vision, and hope. Are you letting your heart be touched with his precious love?

God’s greatest Mission is people – people just like you and me. The following Scriptures are profound; please read them carefully.

Ephesians 1: 3-6  Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

Wow! Absolutely profound! It’s not what God is going to do for us but what he has already done! He has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. This is not something he’s going to do – it’s already done! Not only that, every spiritual blessing is available to you! Hallelujah! I love those words, “In love.” It is God’s intense love for us that inspired him to predestine us. What does that mean? That means that he preplanned our destiny. Think about that! Profoundly wonderful and beautiful! And he did it because he was “in love.” Wow! God didn’t come after us because he had to! No! He came after us because it was his pleasure and will! God’s grace (his undeserved favor and power) has been freely given to us through Jesus! How wonderful! How beautiful!

I pray that you are grasping how God’s greatest desire and Mission is people? God has not pursued you so that you could be his slave. No! He has pursued you so that he could pour into you all that he is! Yes! All that he is! I pray that you will let these truths sink in! The revival that is coming will be based upon them. I pray that you experience an overwhelming revelation that…
