What Do You Believe About You

One of the most significant roadblocks to a blessed life is whether or not a person believes they are worthy of such a life. Most find their value in what people think of them, while others search to find their worth in their performance. This is not God’s way! I love how Colossians 2:3 reads in the Mirror Bible; it says, “Everything that could possibly define our wealth is hidden in Christ. In this place of our union in him, the complete treasure of all wisdom and knowledge is sourced.”

Finding your source or value in anything other than God will always prove to be disappointing. It is most interesting that when Jesus taught us to pray, he said to use these words: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,  your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9b-10  (NIV)

This scripture implies that God wants us to have what he has and live how he lives. As you can imagine, there is no poverty, sickness, disease, or any kind of failure in heaven. Jesus also said, “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” Matthew 7:11 Wow! In other words, if you desire to give good gifts to your children, God has an even much greater desire to provide you with good gifts! Apostle Paul said, “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32

It is time for us to believe that we are who God says we are – His children – His favorites! Since he told us to pray, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven,” wouldn’t it makes sense that God wants you and I to live on this earth with the authority, dominion, and power of heaven! Oh, that we would take the time to consider the heart of God towards us as his children and then, by faith, do what he is telling us to do!

God has put the ball of planning and organizing in your court. Prov 16:1a says, “To man belongs the plans of the heart.” It is time for you to take hold of who God says you are and what God says is yours! It is time to live like the loved and blessed person God declares you to be! Everything that could possibly define your wealth is hidden in God! When you have God, you have wealth! He himself is the standard of what your life is and should look like.

The beginning of a life of true purpose and meaning is believing that it is indeed God’s will for you to prosper in every area and that, with his help, you can! God wants you to live his life of abundance more than you want it for yourself! So the real question that needs to be answered today is…
