Great Benefits

Yesterday we discussed integrity, and today I would like to continue in that vein because integrity has much to do with your future blessing. Integrity is a key factor in determining how far and high you can go. Talent can get you there, but only character can keep you there.

As we discussed yesterday, integrity is the label often put on someone whose actions match their words. People trust those committed to doing what they said they would do. Integrity is important to God and is often spoken of and referred to in the Bible. Because it is important to God, it carries many benefits. Take a look at a few of these benefits that the word of God speaks of.

1.    Integrity can guide and guard you.

Prov 11:3 The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.

Prov 13:6 Righteousness guards the man of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.

2.    Integrity will protect you from many woes!

Psalm 25:21 May integrity and uprightness protect me because my hope is in you.

Psalm 26:1 Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted with In the LORD without wavering.

3.    A person of integrity is genuine and honest and therefore has confidence before God.

1Jn 3:21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22 and receive from him anything we ask because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.

Heb 4:16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

If you’ve read my Encouraging Notes for long, you know that our efforts to do what’s right cannot produce the life of God. Therefore, I believe that authentic integrity results from receiving who God says we are and living in that reality. The Scripture says, “For from him and through him and to him are all things.” Romans 11:36a.

A Christlike life is about God living through me, not me living for God. It is so important to keep this in mind when you read the Scripture. Many people will listen to teaching like this and end up under the spirit of the law and performance. But, please understand that heaven’s glorious life is the life of faith, and those who live by faith will be empowered to live Christlike lives and therefore lives of integrity! True integrity is a result of Christ living in us!

My dearest friend, I pray that this note encourages you to go deeper than ever into your relationship with God because integrity has…
