Empowered to live a life of integrity

Living a life of integrity is so important that I want to use this Encouraging Note to help you know how to tap in. The first key to living God’s life is choosing who is the Lord of your life. Many say that Jesus is the Lord of their life but choose to live life however they want outside of his guidance. The beginning of true Christianity is Lordship.

Romans 10:9 If you confess Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Lordship not only determines who’s calling the shots in your life, but where you believe your life comes from and where you go to get your needs met. Is God always right, or do you make choices outside of his will? Are you committed to doing what God says, no matter how you feel?

The second crucial step to living a life of integrity is changing your mind about what you believe about yourself. What you believe about you determines your integrity. God has declared you righteous in his sight through the blood of Jesus – Do you believe and receive that you are righteous? Do you see yourself as righteous in God’s sight? Proverbs 23:7 says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” The person you see yourself as is the person you will become. This is why apostle Paul encouraged the Roman church by saying, “And do not be conformed to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2. When we set our minds on what God says is true about him and our relationship with him, is when the life of heaven begins to flow into us and through us.

Colossians 3:1-2  Since then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Many people know a lot about God, but much fewer people know him intimately. To live a genuine life of integrity, you must become a person who embraces a life of communion with God. Prayer is communion with God. Jesus told his disciples to pray so that they would not fall into temptation. (Matthew 26:41) Apostle Peter wrote, “The end of all things is near, therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.” 1Pet 4:7  In other words, when you need a breakthrough in your life, communion with God is a must! Being in unity with God through prayer gives you power during times of great need!

It is important to note that prayer becomes powerful when it becomes continual. Paul told the Thessalonian church that they should “pray without ceasing.” 1Thess 5:17. King David wrote, “I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.” Psalm 34:1 This is the heart of someone who lives in true communion with God!

A person who goes deep into true intimacy with God begins to experience heaven on earth! David also wrote, “Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name, I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips, my mouth will praise you. Psalm 63:3-5

The life you’ve always wanted and the life that will bring change to this world is the life of intimacy with God! The most important key to living a life of true integrity is living in intimacy with God! Are you learning to be intimate with God? You can be sure that those who live in genuine intimacy with God will be…
