Do you love being you? Do you know that it’s possible to enjoy your life more than ever before? My dear friend, do you realize that you have the power to change your life? I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “garbage in – garbage out.” I think this is an underestimated reality! This truth makes me excited about my future! Why? Because of the powerful principle of sowing and reaping. Knowing that I can change my destiny by changing my input inspires me to take careful inventory of what I allow in my eyes and ears! If you change your input, it will change your outlook, and your outlook will change your output! It is of utmost importance to carefully consider what you allow in your mind because it will determine what will rule your thoughts! If there were ever something essential to listen to, it would be the voice of God! What God says to you will be the key to your existence on earth! Consider these powerful words of Jesus.

Jn 12:49-50 For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it.  I know that his command leads to eternal life.* So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”

John 10:3-5 NIV. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.

Jesus knew the voice of his Father and therefore lived out his divine purpose. Jesus told us that his sheep know his voice. A sheep does not know the shepherd’s voice right off the bat – it takes time. The more you meditate on God’s Word and spend intimate time with him, the more you will know his heart and recognize his voice. Regarding the importance of input, here are a couple of vital Scriptures to understand.

Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good, and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaketh.

Proverbs 18:22 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Do you see it? Whatever you think about the most will come out of your mouth, and what comes out of your mouth carries the power of life and death. Think about it; God created the universe through speaking, and since we are created in his image and likeness, we also are to create using our words. The more I have understood the power of my words, the more I have been inspired to choose my input carefully.

Underestimating the power of what we allow in our eyes and ears is a grave mistake! We must recognize that our future rests within our thought life! If you change the way you think, it will change the way you feel. If you change the way you feel, it will change the way you act. If you change the way you act, it will change your entire destiny. Make no mistake; a person’s thought life determines their existence!

The fact that I can dramatically change my life by changing my input and thinking is powerful and exciting. If you want to experience the extraordinary life God has for you, you must choose to renew your mind with his truth!

Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

God wants you to jump in and take a test ride in his wonderful way of living – the life of thinking his thoughts, i.e., the life of faith! This rewarding and fulfilling life is available to anyone who chooses their input wisely and makes monitoring their thoughts a priority. Oh, yes! Without a doubt, a life supernaturally empowered by God is available for you!
