FOR A SEASON-FOR A REASON
Have you been experiencing a change in the weather? Are the leaves beginning to turn color? This is actually a beautiful time of year – isn’t it? This begs a provoking thought… Have you ever wondered why it's not always shining and summertime? Why is there hot and cold, day and night, positive and negative? Why is life not a party all the time? There are seasons in life and... seasons change!
Jesus said, "In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (Jn 16:33)
There are many mornings when 5 o’clock seems to roll around a little bit too fast. There are many times when it would be so much nicer just to stay in bed. But the excellent results of increased health and strength that I am experiencing would never happen if I did. Indeed, life is not all about tiptoeing through the tulips! Look at what King David said in the well-known 23rd Psalm. "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." (Psalms 23:4)
There is a way for you to have inner joy and peace even through the seasons of pain and suffering. We must know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God is with us! When we know that he is with us, we can be sure that everything is going to turn out for our good! (Rom 8:28) Trials are the “weight room" of life, affording us the opportunity to experience greater things! Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.(John 12:24)A muscle grows because it is broken down and then fed the right nutrients to increase. One will always experience a low before they find a greater high! Jesus said, “He who tries to save his life will lose it, but he who loses his life for my sake will find it.” (Mt 16:25)
When we choose to set our mind on God and his promises instead of the problems we are facing, we will find great joy and real breakthrough right on it’s heals! Colossians 3:1-3 tells us to set our mind on things above not on things of the earth. Please don’t forget… Seasons change! God is with you…He will make a way! May the grace and mercy of God be upon you today. May your mind be fully set on things above and may God's joy fill your heart today as you confidently live in him.
