Promise Land – Here We Come!
God brought the children of Israel out of Egypt so that he could take them into the Promise Land. Why did they not go in? It was because of unbelief. Do we struggle with this? Think about this – Why in the world did God ever say this to us, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 Why would he say this to us strong, Bible-toting, faith-walking people of heaven? Why? Because all of us struggle at times! All of us go through things that make us want to quit! God would have never told us not to be weary in well-doing if we were never going to feel like giving up.
Persistent, Faith-Filled, Passionate Prayer
It is most interesting that Jesus spends almost half of Luke 17 discussing the severity of the coming end times and, immediately after, tells a parable of this persistent woman who needed justice from a wicked judge and who, without wavering, persistently pursued him until she got her answer.
After God’s Own Heart!
Soon after Saul became king, he faced a war with the Philistines. Samuel, the prophet, had told him that he would come at a specific time to offer sacrifices to the Lord and to inquire of the Lord as to how they should proceed. But when the time came for the prophet to show up, Samuel was nowhere to be found. When the king realized that Samuel was not showing up and that the circumstances were becoming desperate, he decided, despite the command given by the prophet of God, to offer a sacrifice that he was not authorized to offer.
The circumstances were dire, and you would expect that the prophet of God would keep his word and come at the appointed time – right? God had something greater in mind. God was
Boldly Say I Will!
Years ago, I wrote a song because of an experience I had while reading the Scripture. Jeremiah, the prophet, was speaking about a leader who would arise and who God would choose to restore Israel. Here’s what he said.
Their leader will be one of their own; their ruler will arise from among them. I will bring him near, and he will come close to me, for who is he who will devote himself to be close to me?’ declares the LORD. Jeremiah 30:21
What struck me were the words, “for who is he who will devote himself to be close to me?’ Declares the LORD.” When I read this, a sense of brokenness filled my heart, and I began to weep and write, and here are the words that came forth as a song, “I will, I
Jesus Will Be There – Will You?
Tomorrow poses an incredible opportunity for the body of Christ! All over the world, people will be meeting together in the name of Jesus, and Jesus will be with them. Jesus said, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20 (KJV)
Not only is it important to God that we meet together, but it is
