Moses kicked off his ministry by operating in the flesh. He thought that the people would see, according to his natural abilities, that he was supposed to deliver them from Pharaoh’s hand. But his physical abilities were void of God's power that is only accessed through his Holy Spirit and therefore were quickly exposed for what they were… powerless!

Acts 7:23-25  "When Moses was forty years old, he decided to visit his own people, the Israelites. He saw one of them being mistreated by an Egyptian, so he went to his defense and avenged him by killing the Egyptian. Moses thought that his own people would realize that God was using him to rescue them, but they did not.

This detrimental way of doing things was inhibiting God's purpose for Moses life and so the next 40 years of his life were spent in the "weight room of life,” learning to know and obey the voice of the great Shepherd.  Apostle Paul reminds us, "For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, 14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”  (Ro 8:13) 

Moses was not being led by the Spirit and so God had to give him the time to learn to step into that power! When we trust in ourselves, destruction follows in its wake; when we trust in God, the glory of God will is revealed!

What are you trusting in? True ministry cannot be done in the flesh! True and powerful ministry was, is, and will always be….
