RECKLESS ABANDONMENT
What would it take for you to share Jesus with your neighbor, coworker or friend? What would it take for you to leave your comfort zone to go win souls? Freedom from fear? Yes and vision for what really matters.
Lk 5:10 Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don't be afraid; from now on you will catch men.” So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.
These guys were willing to abandon their financial future of inheriting their father’s business and follow someone they didn’t know! Wow! In verse 13 of second Corinthians chapter 5, apostle Paul said, "If we are out of our mind, it is for the sake of God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.” In other words, if it seems like I’m crazy, it’s because I intimately know the amazing love of God and I am crazy about letting others know about it! If I act normal it’s because I’m mellowing out so that I won't seem crazy to you. Look at what he goes on to say…
2 Corinthians 5:17-21 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Not everyone is called to leave their job to be in ministry full-time for sure, but everyone is called to full-time ministry! Everyone who is born-again is God’s agent to those at work, school, neighborhood etc. May you be filled with God’s passion today and may the great commission be your great ambition! Like Apostle Paul, may your life be recklessly abandoned to God! May your light shine today! May someone experience the love and grace of God today because of you! Oh Ya! I love this!
