THE HEART OF THE OBEDIENT

Yes… Obedience has its many perks, but the reason why a person obeys is that they trust in the love of the one who has given the command. Because of not trusting in the love of God, the older, rebellious and disobedient children of Israel died in the wilderness without coming to their promised land. The younger ones decided, no matter what the cost they were going to be obedient to every word the Lord would speak through his servant Joshua. The younger people made up their minds to go to the promise land as God had told their parents they could and chose to be willing to do things God’s way no matter what. Look at what they said to Joshua the new commander of Israel:

Josh 1:18 Whoever rebels against your word and does not obey your words, whatever you may command them, will be put to death. Only be strong and courageous!”

The older generation did not trust in the love God had for them and therefore were afraid to face the giants that were in front of them. On the contrary, the younger generation had decided that God really was right and surrendering to, and following him was indeed the best way!

At the root of disobedience is a distrust and a doubting of the love of the one who has given the command. 1 John 4:18 tells us that, “Perfect love casts out fear.”When you have chosen to trust God's love, you position your self to be a conqueror; fear is banished and faith-filled living becomes your lot.

Are you fully surrendered? If you are convinced of God’s love for you, you will obey every word that God will give you? When you know he loves you, you know he will never fail you! If he has told you to do something, he most definitely will give you the power to carry it out! I am praying for you today that you will be so infected with God’s love that his faith living in you will spur you on to follow his perfect way! Oh Yes…Promise Land here we come!!! Please don’t forget this main point… Knowing God loves you is at…
