FIRST THINGS FIRST
I have often shared the principle of, first things first, second things second, third things third. What holds first place in your life? The more I recognize the beautiful love God has for us, the more I want to fulfill his commission and purpose on the earth! I acknowledge that many have never experienced God’s precious love for them and for me, there is nothing more important than using my gifts, talents, and resources to share that love with those who don’t yet know. King Solomon understood this and said, "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who is wise wins souls.” Proverbs 11:30 (ASV)
Jesus told us,"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Luke 6:33
The prophet Isaiah admonishes us by saying, "Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.” Isa 55:6
I want my life to focus on what really matters! There is nothing more important in my life than knowing God and fulfilling His heart's desire! The great evangelist Reinhard Bonnke coined this great quote, “ Make the great commission your great ambition.” Here is the great commission Jesus gave us:
Mat 28:19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
To the degree that the love and grace of God infects one is the degree they will be effective in sharing that love. Our world is in great need of true revival! There are so many that desperately need to experience the love of God! My prayer for you today is that you would lose your life to gain God’s life! May you believe God and do his will! May nothing in your life come before God – may he reign as king of your heart and first place in your thoughts and actions!
