ONE STEP AT A TIME!
God has given to each of us gifts and talents needed to fulfill his grand purpose for our lives. Without comparing our gifts with others, we must pursue what God has called us to do. As we look at the word of God, we can see that God is very serious when it comes to what he wants us to do with what he has given us. Consider this very powerful, yet stern warning from God.
““Then the servant with the one bag of silver came and said, ‘Master, I knew you were a harsh man, harvesting crops you didn’t plant and gathering crops you didn’t cultivate. I was afraid I would lose your money, so I hid it in the earth. Look, here is your money back.’ “But the master replied, ‘You wicked and lazy servant! If you knew I harvested crops I didn’t plant and gathered crops I didn’t cultivate, why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank? At least I could have gotten some interest on it.’ “Then he ordered, ‘Take the money from this servant, and give it to the one with the ten bags of silver. To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’”
Matthew 25:24-30 NLT
God is not concerned with how much you have, but rather what you do with what you have. When God has given us a talent or ability, doing nothing with it brings judgment. God wants you to prosper more than you want to prosper! It is critical that we use what God has given us even if it seems like it’s not as good as what others have. My future does not depend on how I compare with others but rather on my willingness to, by faith, step out and pursue what God has called me to do. Don’t ever minimize what God has given you – he is able to multiply whatever you place in his hands! He doesn’t need your ability – he needs your availability! Is there something that you know God is calling you to do? Does it seem scary and out of reach? Don’t worry about the final destination – take one step— then another step— then another step! You know how to eat an elephant right?… One bite at a time! If you will step out and do what God is calling you to do, you will see that he has you covered! Your best life will unfold before you! When it comes to this subject, it is best to do something— anything—lest you do nothing. So, what is God calling you to do? Here is some good advice… Don’t worry – don’t be afraid— Believe God and start heading for the goal…
