A CUP OF WATER
It's Christmas time, the season for giving! In God's economy, there is a reward for even the smallest act of servanthood or giving. God's heart is so much into serving that simply giving a cup of water to someone who serves Jesus is an act worthy of reward from God. May you serve someone today! It's worth it! Look at the words of Jesus himself:
Mk 9:41 I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward.
Matthew 20:28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
John 3:16 God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever would believe in him would not perish but have everlasting life.
Many times, At the heart of human love is the spirit of taking or, "what’s in it for me." At the center of God kind of love is the spirit of giving. Even Jesus, though he was the son of God, did not come to be served but rather to serve and give his life away. God considers giving and serving worthy of eternal reward.
