God has given us the tremendous privilege of tapping into his presence through prayer!  Jesus taught the disciples in Luke 18:1 that men ought always to pray and never to give up!  1 Peter 4:7  says, “The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.”

Many times my mind wanders to this precious thought of how Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray. Lk 5:16 How I would love to have been there to listen to him and hear his heart! I have often reasoned that, if Jesus needed to pray, how much more do I!  The writer of Hebrews tells us that Jesus cried out to God with loud cries and tears and that he was heard because of his reverent submission. Heb 5:7

Consider these powerful scriptures from the word of God…When you pray in the Spirit you release the mysteries of God, 1Cor 14:2 while at the same time building your own self up in your most holy faith. Jude 20 (KJV)  Wow! Real and powerful prayer is when it is no longer you praying, but God praying through you! When God is praying mightily through you, it may be that you do not know the fullness of what you are saying!

I love this quote from Beth Moore "There are parts of our calling, works of the Holy Spirit, and defeats of the darkness that will come no other way than through furious, fervent, faith-filled, unceasing prayer.” You know when you stepped into powerful prayer when it is no longer you praying, but rather the Holy Spirit praying through you! I believe that God is looking for those who are ready to storm the gates of hell through heaven-sent, Holy Spirit guided, Devil destroying prayer!

When should you pray? The apostle Paul told us to pray continually. 1Th 5:17 He also said, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Eph 6:18

I don’t know about you, but the conviction and calling for prayer has summoned my name! It is high time for prayer!
