THAT LITTLE GIRL!

The word of God lets us know that God wants us to live in all the glory and goodness of his kingdom! Many expend their energy to try to figure out God but there is a better way to experience his glory. Approaching God with childlike humility and faith strikes a major chord in the heart of God and brings significant returns!

Luke 18:15-17 People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

You may have witnessed that beautiful sight of the little girl in the grocery store, twirling around in her pretty little dress, singing at the top of her lungs, unaware that you are watching her. This sight is beautiful because it’s a picture of freedom, humility, joy and a simple trusting contentment. Little children are so unsuspecting and live deeply in the moment. Living in the faith of God causes us to also live in the moment with that same freedom, humility, joy and contentment. Sadly, the church often becomes a dress-up competition and a who's who performance. This surely is not what God is looking for! He wants us to have the heart of that little child in the grocery store, so caught up in the moment that she does not know or even care who's watching.

Humility and simple trust are what God is looking for! Carefully consider how you approach God, because the way you approach him will determine the success of your connection with him and the subsequent experience of his glory and goodness! The body of Christ needs a dose of the sweet, trusting mentality of that little girl! I am hungry for more of God and I believe that you are too! I am praying for you today – may you trust God enough to approach him with the freedom, and confidence of that little girl! May today be your day to be inspired to run to God with a simple faith and heart of humility, just like…
