Muscles grow when they are put under strain and stress. I think this is the part of life that many struggle coming to grips with. Some say it like this, “no pain, no gain.” God set up life in such a way so that only through trials and tests do we experience the greatest breakthroughs. Faith is like a muscle, it must go through testing to come to its fullness. Sometimes when you are in the middle of a trial, life is confusing and knowing what to do next is not obvious. What should you do in those situations? Apostle James gives us some great advice right here…

James 1:5-8  If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

When God says something, his opinion should be the only one that counts in our minds! Having more than one opinion (God's opinion and a good idea) is being double minded. We must believe God! There is no other option! Apostle James also tells us that, “We have not because we ask not or we ask with wrong motives.” (Ja 4:3)  Don’t forget this most important point – when you ask God, you must believe! Believing is the key that unlocks the door to the blessing that God longs to give you! God has great plans for you; he has his heart set on blessing you with his limitless supply.

If you understand that God owns everything and can do anything and has his heart set on blessing you, you are ready to proceed ahead. So what should be our next step?… Believe the opinion of God only! Don’t wait to pray...
