DO YOUR BEST!
There is an incredible revelation God is trying to bring forth in our day; it is the revelation of rest. This rest God has for you and me comes only by faith in what He has said. There is a focused effort that is required for us to enter that rest; it is the full, unconditional acceptance of the provision of grace as granted to us through Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 4:11-13 (NLT) So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.
It may sound like an oxymoron to say that you must do your best or make every effort to enter this place of rest, but this is exactly what God is saying. The ideologies of this world that are based upon obedience to the law can never enter you into the place of God’s best, this glorious place of rest is accessed by faith alone. This means you must set your mind fully on what God has said! (Col 3:2-3) Apostle Paul told us that we would be“transformed by the renewing of our minds.” (Rom12:2)
Please don’t mistake this one and most critical point… Doing your best is not talking about you doing what's right, but rather about you setting your mind on the fact that God declares you righteous and completely loved by him. Believe it or not, this will be the most humbling and challenging road you will ever travel. This road requires your greatest effort as it requires you to believe what seems opposite of what is true.
To believe that you are righteous and perfect in God’s sight, outside of your works, is against your human nature. Everything within you will seem to fight and try to reject this most simple and powerful truth. But, make no mistake, the opportunity of a lifetime is nevertheless within your reach! This is not about you doing what’s right, but rather receiving that you are already righteous in God’s sight through the precious blood of Jesus.
I challenge you to make the sincere effort necessary to set your mind on what God has declared to be true. Let go and receive in its completeness the grace granted to you through Jesus Christ. Your greatest days are ahead–the glory of God will soon be revealed! Focus in and fully receive what God has said! Know that the word of God is entirely true, forever settled and will take you to the other side! Are you ready–will you believe? Will you set your mind on what God has said is true?
