There are times in life when a silver platter is given to you; the perfect opportunity for you to be bitter and angry by one who has done you wrong. It is at these times that we need to see a bigger picture, the life-picture that God sees. This is what the Bible calls wisdom. 

Prov 19:11 A man's wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.

Ephesians 4:31-32 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Hebrews 12:15 15 See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

Bitterness is a severe and destructive force, that destroys the person who lives in it! Bitterness is deceitful in that it is like drinking deadly poison while thinking it will hurt the person the bitterness is directed at. When we accept the love of God, it causes us to live in the wisdom of God and the wisdom of God empowers us to overlook what has been done wrong against us. The tremendous debt we have in-cured regarding our relationship with God has been fully paid through the death of Jesus Christ and this is the power needed for us to truly forgive others! 

Because the nature of God is forgiveness, God is glorified when we forgive others! To let go of an offense through forgiveness opens the door for God’s grace to empower you to live in the amazing future he has pre-ordained for you!
