A WORD IN THE DESERT
A word from God can change the course and destiny of someone unknown and living in obscurity so much so that it will turn them into a well-known, front-stage mouthpiece for a national shift. It all begins with a word from the Lord!
Luke 3:2-6 during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the desert. 3 He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
Before this time, John probably would have been known as a peculiar soul. He lived out in the desert, his clothes were made out of camel’s hair, he always wore a leather belt and he ate locusts and wild honey for food. Definitely nothing fancy on the outside. But because of a word from the Lord look at what happens.
Mt 3:5-6 People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordan. 6 Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.
His life was so powerful that our Lord Jesus Christ said of him, "Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. (Mt 11:11)
