When I consider the faith of Moses, Joseph, David and many other great leaders of the past, I am encouraged to fight the good fight of faith. Oh yes – if they made it, so can I! Our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever! If God was able to use people of the past who, like you and me, failed and made many mistakes, he can also use us who are willing to believe! God encourages us to consider the leaders of the past and imitate their faith. 

Hebrews 13:7-8 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. 

I’m sure you remember the story in the book of Mark when the disciples were trying to cast the devil out of the boy but with no success. The boy’s father came to Jesus in desperation and said, "Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.” The response of Jesus was astounding! He replied to the father of the demon-possessed boy by saying, “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:22b-24 (NLT) 

Oh, do you see it? Do you get it? Jesus did not say everything is possible for me because I believe, but rather, "anything is possible if a person (any person) believes.” This means that anyone who believes will see the results that Jesus experienced if they will just believe. 

Maybe it is time for you to take a stroll through history and consider those who've gone before you. Mind-boggling things were accomplished through imperfect people who were willing to believe! My thoughts are with you today – my faith is intensifying on your behalf! I am praying that the faith of God will rise up in you today! May you, by faith, conqueror what is in front of you. 

Maybe today there are areas in your life that seem like mountains you cannot cross. I want to assure you that with God, all things are possible! Maybe you’re afraid. Maybe depression is trying to come upon you. Maybe you have been hurt, and bitterness is trying to rule your life. Maybe sickness or disease has come against your body. Maybe your marriage or your children seem to be falling apart. I want you to know that this is not the end; this is your moment to see the glory of God revealed! Others have gone through very difficult things and came out on the other side a conqueror, and so can you! 

Facing difficult things is not unusual – it is a part of life. You are not a victim – you are a Victor! Maybe today’s the perfect day for you to reflect on those who’ve gone before you! Yes – I want to encourage you to...
