A NEW LEVEL!
Matthew chapter fourteen records the story of when a large crowd of ten to fifteen thousand people had gathered, and Jesus, because of his compassion was healing everyone. After healing all their sick, Jesus called the disciples to a new level of faith and power. Take a look!
Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick. That evening the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.” But Jesus said, “That isn’t necessary—you feed them.” “But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish!” they answered. “Bring them here,” he said. Then he told the people to sit down on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples, who distributed it to the people. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers. About 5,000 men were fed that day, in addition to all the women and children! Mat 14:14-21 (NLT)
The disciples wanted to send the people home so that they could eat. But Jesus said, “That isn’t necessary – you feed them.” Jesus was calling them to a new level! The response of the disciples was, “But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish!” Have you ever had a similar response? God is calling you to do something great, but you respond with, “We don’t have enough money for that.” Or, “We don’t have enough people for that, or I can’t sing good enough for that,” etc. etc.
Someone once said, "If you can see the invisible, you can do the impossible." Jesus was seeing the resources in the invisible realm, but the disciples only saw the natural. God wants to do much greater things through your life than what can be done through natural means! If you can do it without God, God probably isn't in it. Sometimes we sense God telling us to do something unusual, and often we have the same excuses as the disciples… "I only have..." Or, "I'm not sure,” or “If only I had...," etc. etc. I’m praying about this for you today! I am asking God to cause his faith to arise in your heart today! God is calling you to the impossible! Are you ready? When God speaks, just do it because it’s time for you to step up to...
