PRECIOUS MOMENTS IN HIS PRESENCE
The experiencing God's presence is one of the greatest and most precious gifts we have from God. It is where heaven meets earth! Nothing is more delightful than to be raptured up into the ecstasy of God’s presence during your intimate times with him. It is truly indescribable, immeasurable and inexpressible! The apostle Peter, though familiar with pain, knew about this incredible place, and here is what he said about it.
1 Peter 1:6-9 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Apostle Peter wrote this from a place of experience, not from ideological knowledge. He knew the power of having his thoughts and emotions so empowered by the love of God that even though he was experiencing pain on the outside, on the inside he was experiencing inexpressible and glorious joy. This transformation process that can happen for anyone in the presence of God is more wonderful than words can describe! Nothing in this world compares to those transforming, precious moments in theawesome presence of our Heavenly Father!
King David also knew of this amazing place and this is what he wrote.
“Because your love is better than life, my lips will praise you.” Psalm 63:3
King David, speaking from experience, could definitively say that the love of God is better than life itself! Indeed, anyone who surrenders to God’s precious love can also fully vouch for what King David expressed.
Many people claim Christianity but don’t actually believe God. This is what you would call an unbelieving believer. Oxymoron? Yes! There is no such thing as genuine Christianity without believing God! That is often why the world looks at the church and is confused. I believe many times they are saying, “Will the real Christian please stand?”
One of the greatest secrets to experiencing the presence of God isbelieving that he is within you and all around you. It’s a recognition. It is a surrendering to an unseen reality. To tap into the unseen, you must recognize that it is there. Please consider these words carefully – to experience God, you must believe he is there, and that he is who he says he is! The writer of Hebrews said, “Those who come to him (God) must believe that he is (or exists).” Hebrews 11:6
There is a superpower available to those who will learn to live in that recognition all the time! When you know that your loving, Almighty, All-Powerful God is right there with you – fear runs away, discouragement is banished, failure is nowhere to be found and life with real purpose forcefully advances!
Today is your day to experience God on a new level! He is available at this very moment and wants to spend some precious time with you. My heart goes out to you today… I am praying that you will, more than ever, experience …
