THE SHOPPING SPIRIT!
The shopping malls are swarming with new merchandise and crowds of people. Each vendor is seeking to capitalize on the opportunity afforded by the season!I don’t know about you, but this is one of the most heartwarming seasons of the year! As many are capitalizing on financial gain, you and I have the opportunity to capitalize on this incredible spiritual opportunity!
During this precious season, there is something available for purchase that is far greater than what shopping malls have to offer! Have you ever thought about buying something so expensive that all the gold in the world would not be enough to obtain it? In the following verses, you will see things socostly that money isn’t enough for the purchase.
Isa 55:1-3 Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare. Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live.
A soul at peace with God is something that money cannot buy! No amount of money can grant you freedom from the internal turmoil of feeling ashamed, condemned, fearful, anxious, hurt, offended, bitter and the like. Many have money, but few obtain the real secret of life – internal prosperity. Look at what Jesus said here in Mark chapter 8.
Mark 8:36-37 What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
Many are expending all that they have (i.e. energy, talents, money) to tap into what God is longing to give to them for free. According to Jesus' words, a person could gain all that this world has to offer and yet lose their own soul (mind, will and emotions). In other words, they could have wealth and power but not live in the glorious place of being loved, forgiven and free!
Every person has to deal with their conscience! The only way to live a life of abundance is to live in the secret place of being right with God by faith in the blood of Jesus! God is offering life so spectacular that even your imagination cannot conceive how awesome the fullness of it is!
Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen
Every person longs for this kind of life, but most search for it in the wrong places. You can only find this kind of heavenly life through God’s provision as granted in Jesus Christ. Oh, if only you could perceive the depths of how much God longs to give you his abundant life! Oh, if people only knew how close and reachable this kind of life is! I promise you one thing - this amazing life is beyond anything you have ever dreamed!
