WHAT THEY THINK!

WHAT THEY THINK!.png

Most people live their lives based on what others may think about them. Have you ever caught yourself doing something other than what was in your heart because you were concerned about what others might think? Often the way we have dressed, what we have bought, what we have said, and what we have done has been directly influenced by what we thought others might think about us. This way of living is called man-pleasing and is often the seed of destruction for many!   King Herod was heavily motivated by what others thought, and look at  the outcome of his life.

Acts 12:2-3 He (King Herod) had James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword. When he saw that this met with approval among the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Festival of Unleavened Bread.

Later.........

Acts12:21-23 On the appointed day, Herod, wearing his royal robes, sat on his throne and delivered a public address to the people. They shouted, “This is the voice of a god, not of a man.” Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.

When you care more about what God thinks than what others think and are willing to obey him no matter what others think, you will protect yourself from many pitfalls and possible  great calamity!

Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.  Proverbs 29:25

Faith in God gives a person the power to be strong and courageous. The more you receive the approval of God, the less you will need the approval of man! Those who find this precious place are very confident and positioned for greatness! Receiving the approval of God comes from believing in the truth of his love and care for you as portrayed in the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ!

1 Jn 4:10 says, “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”

Oh, the power of knowing you are loved and adored by God! Oh, the power of knowing that you are righteous in his sight! May today be a day, because of the grace and goodness of God towards you, that you are freed from living in the prison of the opinions of others! Let today be the day that what you choose to wear, what you decide to buy, what you want to say, and what you decide to do is based upon your relationship with your loving Heavenly Father and the knowing of his approval of you! I am confident that you would agree with me on this – today is a good day not to care…
