Thousands of years before Jesus came, God sent prophets to let his people know that the Messiah would soon come. With more than 350 prophecies regarding Jesus and his coming, when the time came, there was no room for him.

Luke 2:4-7 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

Consider the profoundness of the coming of Jesus Christ. The King of the universe was coming to earth to give Himself as a ransom and payment for all humanity. Though there were hundreds of prophecies, when the time came for his arrival, the religious did not recognize the season and humanity had no room for him. The God who spoke the world’s into existence was born in a barn and laid in a feeding trough. Interestingly, it was he who would become the bread of life that would feed the world the truth that brings life!

The most disturbing thing about the Christmas season is how many say they believe in Jesus, yet have no room for him in their lives. Christmas is often a time where food, presents and parties take center stage and Jesus is scarcely mentioned. Why is this?

When Jesus came to earth, though the religious knew the prophecies about him, they did not recognize him. Today, many people know about Jesus, but most do not perceive him as the answer for their lives. They do not realize that he is everything they have ever wanted. If only people would understand the profoundness of what can be their reality through Jesus. If someone shared with you the exact coordinates of a billion-dollar hidden treasure, would you be interested in going after it? Of course you would! Therefore, the issue does not lie within the parameters of the facts, but rather in the revelation of those facts.

My heart goes out to the world today! I am praying that during this Christmas season there would be a revelation of why Jesus came to earth! The life God has provided through Jesus Christ is better than anyone can think or even imagine, for it is the very life of heaven! God is longing for us to step into his glory, and he has made it available to those who will, like a child, believe! There will be those who will have no room for Jesus during this Christmas season, but I am praying and believing that, because of a supernatural revealing of the good news of Jesus, more people than ever before are…
