WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING AT!
A mesmerizing thought but true statement is, “What you behold is what you become.” The Bible explicitly implores us to set our mind on things above, only thinking those thoughts that are in the category of excellent and praiseworthy. (Phil 4:8) When you are in the middle of one of those “big ole” trials, thinking the right thoughts and taking the right actions sometimes seem confusing. During those times, the best thing we can do is to look at the answer, not the problem, and press ahead!
Genesis 42:1-2 When Jacob learned that there was grain in Egypt, he said to his sons, “Why do you just keep looking at each other? ” He continued, "I have heard that there is grain in Egypt. Go down there and buy some for us, so that we may live and not die."
Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
Standing around looking at the problem will never fix it. Setting your mind on Christ and his love for you will open you up to the answer you need for your situation! The solution to your problem will be found in His leading and guiding; the truth for you will be in him alone. Hey, everything is going to be alright—a matter of fact—for your ultimate good!
Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Phil 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Take the time to survey your thoughts and attitude. Your thoughts are the gateway to your heart. Your thoughts determine what will end up happening in the unseen realm... the realm of your heart. God spoke through Solomon saying, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Prov 4:23 Literally, all the issues of life will flow from what has been produced in your heart through your thoughts.
Your dominant thoughts will create a magnetic force within your heart that will draw to you whatever you have been thinking. As Henry Ford so profoundly stated, "If you think you can or you think you can't, you're right."
Are you looking at your loving Heavenly Father and his ability or trusting in your own strength to make it all happen? The only way to be confident of a great future is to set your mind on what God has declared regarding you. Today is your day, now is your opportunity! Maybe it's time to consider…
