HUMILITY COMES BEFORE HONOR

This is amazing! The Bible talks about a woman who tapped into the power of God because of her great humility and great faith! The Bible records the story in Matthew where she came to Jesus for help because her daughter was suffering from demon possession. Look at what transpired.

Matthew 15:22-28 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.” 23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.” 24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” 25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said. 26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” 27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” 28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.

Wow! Would you still operate in faith and humility if you were rejected like her? Her answer was astounding and produced an unforgettable miracle! Wow!

The opposite of humility is pride. Pride always trusts in self and puts self before others. Jesus said, “The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." Matthew 23:11-12 A humble heart trusts God above all else, knowing he will fulfill what he has promised. A humble heart puts others above itself, knowing it is better to give than to receive. May you have a humble heart today! May you have faith like this woman and see the power of God released in your life! Of this you can be sure…
