YOUR SOIL MATTERS!
A healthy garden is beautiful and intriguing! Good seed in good soil is a remarkable phenomenon! It is interesting that you can have the highest quality seed, but if it is not in good soil, it will not produce properly. Great soil is soft because it has been thoroughly broken up, and the rocks and weeds have been removed. Great soil is well watered and adequately fertilized.
Your ability to grow in God is based upon the principle of sowing into good soil and, therefore, reaping a harvest. The Bible lets us know that the Word of God is both the seed, water, and the fertilizer necessary for great growth. The soil is our heart. God allows the difficult things in life to help break down and remove those things that will hinder the great harvest in our lives.
Matthew 13:18-23 “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means:19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20 The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away. 22 The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful. 23 But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
Some of the things that must be removed because they can withhold the beautiful harvest God has in store for you are bitterness, selfishness, self-righteousness, the lusts of the flesh and eyes and the pride of life.
1Jn 2:16-17 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
When we go through difficult things, God is presenting an opportunity for us to humble ourselves. This allows his mighty hand to remove those things that will withhold our blessing.
Remember, the word of God is God. (John 1:1) The Word of God needs good soil! We must be those who are willing, ready and open to all that God wants to do in our lives! The word of God is so powerful. It will produce God himself
in you. You can be sure of this; God is looking for a heart to plant his seed right now! Are you ready for God to prepare your heart for greatness? God is counting on you, and you can be sure…
