YOUR REASON TO LOOK GOOD!

Have you ever found yourself trying to impress others? We all have had times of wanting someone to think we are attractive. Sometimes some of the most beautiful or handsome people don’t feel good about themselves. They feel insecure and are trying their very best to have someone to say they have value or worth. However, when we try to get our value or worth from people, it will certainly be a snare and, even more, a graphic disappointment! Look at what the wisest man that ever lived says about this:

Proverbs 29:25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.

Often people will dress, look or act a certain way because they are caught up in what others might think or say about them. They try so hard to appear beautiful, cool, strong, popular, rich and influential.  This fear of man is dangerous and can even separate us from the great life purpose God has for us. Look at the powerful words of Jesus as he spoke about this subject:

John 5:41-44   "I do not accept praise from men, but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts.  I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.  How can you believe if you accept praise from one another, yet make no effort to obtain the praise that comes from the only God?

John 12:41-43   Isaiah was referring to Jesus when he said this because he saw the future and spoke of the Messiah’s glory.  Many people did believe in him, however, including some of the Jewish leaders. But they wouldn’t admit it for fear that the Pharisees would expel them from the synagogue.  For they loved human praise more than the praise of God.

Whenever we care what others think of us more than what God thinks of us, we put ourselves in a precarious situation to never know the praise and power of God! Worrying about what others think is putting our faith in man’s opinion instead of God’s opinion! 

Determine today to set your mind on God and what he thinks about you! So what does he think about you? If you are humble enough to receive this – here it is… You are God’s dream come true! Yes! That is what I said! You are God’s dream come true! Yes, you! If you need someone’s opinion, ask God about his! He is definitely “all of that” and is madly in love with you! In fact, you are everything he has ever wanted! He thinks you’re beautiful – you are perfect in his sight. He wants to spend eternity showing you just how much he loves you! Yes! God wants to lavish his love and goodness upon you forever and ever! 

Here’s my question for you today: Will you let his opinion of you outweigh all other opinions? Will you choose today to let your dress, demeanor, and actions reflect the security of living in how he feels about you? How about letting the safety and freedom of knowing God’s love for you and his good opinion of you be…
