GOD’S ANOINTING

Olive oil comes from crushing olives. In the word of God, oil is often symbolic of the anointing of God or the presence of the Holy Spirit upon a person. The Bible declares that it is the anointing that destroys yokes and removes burdens. To be sure, this is not an accident! Crushing is necessary to cause this kind of oil to flow! Living in the anointing that destroys yokes and removes burdens is a byproduct of crushing trials. Few things can bring about the glory of God in your life like having a valley of the shadow of death experience! Profound things can happen when you are but between a rock and a hard place in life with nowhere to turn except to God! 

Psalm 23:4-5 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

No pain – no gain! When you allow Jesus Christ to be the Lord of your life, couch potato living will not be an option; God will make sure that you go through the weight room of life! People want to quit when they face the valley of the shadow of death, but this is when those who will trust in God will get their most remarkable victories! God has called us to be more than conquerors, and for sure, our attitude will determine our altitude. God knows we must learn the life of faith. Your problems are only as big as your perception of God. 

Those challenging times in life are crucial to God’s work in us, stripping us of those things that will hinder his blessings intended for our future. Jesus said, “I tell you the truth unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. John 12:24-25

God allows trials to help us to die to those things that are holding us from our great future. When our faith is tested, we must hunker down into God’s love and know that his plan cannot fail! When I go to the gym, a little bit of pain is always on the menu. Without pain, our muscles cannot be torn down, and without our muscles being torn down, they won’t grow. Next time you’re going through challenging times, consider it your weight room of life! Remember, olives don’t become oil until they’re crushed! 

Today is your day to win! May you, by faith, go through the trials God has allowed for you. May you believe God today, and may you overflow with God’s powerful anointing! An amazing, fulfilling, yoke destroying, burden removing life is available for you! Don’t despise those trials you’re going through because it is crushing that produces…
