THINKING ABOUT !
Success coaches, mentors, and successful people seem to talk a lot about the power of reading the right books. I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “Readers are leaders, and leaders are readers.” Why is this? It’s the principle of sowing and reaping. What goes in your mind through your eyes and ears will most definitely produce a harvest in your life! If you’re wise enough to take a good look at what you have chosen to meditate on, you will realize that it has brought you to your current life destination.
We often underestimate the power of right-thinking! Have you ever taken the time to do a sincere and thorough inventory of your thought life? Those who are very successful deem it wise to think about what you think about because they intimately understand that you become what dominates your mind. The wisest man that ever lived said, "Above all else guard your heart, for from it come all the issues of life." Prov 4:23
So why isn’t everybody tenaciously pursuing the best input? It is much easier to sit in front of the television or scroll through YouTube or other social media outlets to be entertained than to set our minds on successful books, podcasts and the like. Life has allotted you a specific amount of time, and what you do with it is your choice.
I have often argued that the only thing more powerful than God is man’s will to choose. Even though God has said that he is not willing that any should perish but that all should come into the freedom of a changed mind (repentance) (2Pet 3:9), many will perish because they choose to reject God. What is my point? Only you have the power to change your thoughts! At this juncture, it is crucial that you look into the mirror of your life and take 100% responsibility for where you are and where you are going! There is no one on the entire planet, including God, that can make you live the heavenly life found in heavenly thoughts! Here is God’s command to you given through apostle Paul:
Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is –his good, pleasing and perfect will.
What you behold (meditate on) is what you will become! Today is a gift from God! Today is your day to set your mind on the good things of God for your life rather than on any negative circumstances or negative news that comes your way. God's great plan is released upon those who will believe Him enough to live today in the dreams of tomorrow. That, my friend, is meditation on things above! If you want something you've never had, you will have to do something you've never done!
Don’t let anyone fool you. A great life isn’t a stroke of luck; it is a choice to think on the right thoughts! Great thoughts are the breeding ground for a great life!
