BY FAITH ALONE

When a person hears the term righteous or living righteous, they often think of trying to do all the right things so that they can be blessed by God. However, we must remember that the righteousness that God accepts is not an act of our will, but rather an act of faith that has the byproduct of right living. The question is not whether we should live righteously or do what is right; the question is, what produces the righteousness that God requires? When we lean upon our own ability to live the righteous life God requires, we find our abilities falling short and shame, condemnation, and fear setting in. This is why God declared this most profound Scripture, “Without faith it is impossible to please God.” Heb 11:6  

The righteous life that God requires is not something we can produce by decision or willpower. Rather, it is something we believe that taps us into a life that displays Christ. Consider this next scripture carefully. 

Romans 1:17 For in the gospel, a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith.”   

In other words, it started by faith when we accepted Christ and will continue to be about faith until we meet him face-to-face. Often, I use the term do the math. When it comes to the shed blood of Jesus, we must understand that faith alone is what produces being right with God and living a righteous life! Romans 12:2 tells us that we can be transformed by the renewing of our minds. The more that we believe that we are indeed righteous in God’s sight, the more our actions will follow suit! The most important word in the Bible is the word believe. 

So, here’s the question: Do you believe that because of the blood of Jesus, you are completely righteous in God’s sight right now? Do you believe that He wants to bless you right now? Do you believe that He wants to favor you and empower you right now? Do you believe that He wants to heal you and provide for you right now? Oh, my dear partner in Christ, what you actually believe regarding these questions will determine how much of heaven’s abundance will flow into you and through you!   

I am praying for you today! I am asking God to give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him! I am asking that the eyes of your heart would be opened so that you would know the hope that God has called you to and the riches of the glorious inheritance that is already inside of you! Eph 1:17 Yes! There is a life available to you right now that is more rewarding and more fulfilling than you have ever dreamed possible! May the faith of God arise in you today. May God’s righteousness flow through you! Here’s one thing you can be completely assured of; the righteous life that God wants is attained…
