FREE FROM FEAR Part 12
I want to get to the root of why Adam and Eve felt afraid when they realized they were naked. The word of God makes it clear why Adam and Eve were afraid. When Adam and Eve partook of the knowledge of good and evil (the law of performance)’s, they stepped out of the law of love. The nature of love is giving – the nature of self is taking. The nature of love is freedom – the nature of self is to dominate others for personal benefit. When a person is truly loved, especially by God, they feel safe because they know God is ever-present, is all-powerful, all-knowing, can do anything, and is passionately in love with them. Please read this following verse sink deep into your heart.
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Do you see that? There is no fear in love! Adam and Eve stepped out of knowing the love of God because they became intimate with the law of trusting in self. Those who live inside of the love of God are free from fear. The Scripture goes on to say, perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. Before Adam and Eve partook of the law, they perceive themselves as perfect in God’s eyes and fully deserving of his protection, provision, and love. They had no fear of punishment because there were no laws to break. The only law that God gave them was – don’t touch the laws. God knew that the day they made a covenant with trusting in self, I partaking of the knowledge of good and evil fear/death would be there lot.
The understand? The law brings fear because of our inability to keep it, and living in fear is the life of death.
Apostle Paul wrote, “For if those who depend on the law are heirs, faith means nothing and the promise is worthless because the law brings wrath. And where there is no law, there is no transgression.” Romans 4:14-15
The New Living Translation but says it like this, “For the law always brings punishment on those who try to obey it. (The only way to avoid breaking the law is to have no law to break!)” Romans 4:15
Remember, if the knowledge of the law had the power to drive them into a life of fear and separation from God, then the knowledge of the highest law – the law of love – has the power to free a person and to make them one with God again.
John 3:16 says, “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever would believe in him would not perish, but would have everlasting life.”
God is so in love with us that he was willing to sacrifice his only Son to pay the debt for our sin of partaking of the law of self and being righteous on our own. Because of the law of adultery, God could not righteously be married to us again without a death in our relationship to our other marriage partner, the law.
Please don’t miss tomorrow because I will make it clear from Scripture that Jesus came to deliver us from the law of Moses and to offer, through Jesus, the life of living…
