MAKING GOALS AND ACHIEVING THEM!

Part 4  

God wants to empower you in one of the most impactful areas of your life this new year, and that is in the area of your emotions! You have experienced plenty of hurt, trauma, pain, and rejection if you are like most. These kinds of experiences can leave a person with damaged emotions and feelings. God passionately wants you to feel like he feels so that you can live as he lives! Feelings are like gas in a car; without them, you will not go very far. Your feelings are catalysts that either demote you or promote you! Listen to what Apostle Peter says regarding the suffering we experience from insults, threats, and the like.

1 Peter 2:21-24  For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.  He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone.  He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.  He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds, you are healed.

One of the reasons Jesus went through all that he went through was to heal our hearts and emotions. God has made a way through the blood of Jesus and the cross for us to live in complete freedom from the wounds of the past. This may sound trite to some, but rest in God will be at the center of your healing! To begin this process, you must consent to the righteousness that is yours through the sacrifice of Jesus. For true freedom, you must see yourself as perfect in God's sight because of the blood of Jesus.

You and I have already failed the test of being righteous in God's sight by our works. In other words, you and I failed the test of life (obedience to the righteous requirements of the law). Jesus came to this earth to take the test of life (perfect obedience to the law) on our behalf. After acing this test, he now offers his perfect score to all those who will believe. Now he desires for us to step into his abundant life of seeing ourselves as those who have also aced the test through God's undeserved favor (Grace)!

In Romans 12:2, the apostle Paul told us that the renewing of our minds can transform us. In other words, we can become something we have never been by renewing our minds. This is what we call metamorphosis.  It is so critical to choose to renew your mind by focusing on God's truths as recorded in his precious Word! If you will determine to set your mind on what God says about you, this year is destined to be the best year you've ever had! If you choose to accept the value, worth, and perfection that God has given you, achieving your goals and dreams will come naturally!
