THEY THINK EVERYTHING REVOLVES AROUND GOD
“Those who know their God will be strong and do great things.” Dan 11:32
Throughout the ages, those who truly knew God did great things! If there was ever a time in history that we need the power of God, it is now! The world desperately needs a demonstration of the reality of God through those who claim to be His!
So far, we have discussed what it means to know God and have learned that knowing God includes the following:
1. A life of intimacy with God’s
2. Knowing and believing God’s character
3. Knowing, hearing, and believing God’s character
4. Knowing God’s heart
WHAT DO PEOPLE THINK WHO KNOW THEIR GOD?
Today I want to begin answering this question; What do people think who know God? Have you ever desired to be a fly on the wall when Jesus was praying or doing miracles? I sure have! It is not that I want to see what I already know he did, but I want to know why he did it and how he did it. I want to know what he was thinking! To understand why great men and women of God did what they did, we must know how they thought. So, how do people think who know God?
First of all, people who know God think that everything revolves around Him. Yes – literally everything! Those who know God don’t do anything without God and view all things from the standpoint of God’s word and his purposes. Those who know God perceive that every minute they live is to glorify God. They don’t go to the store without God – they’ll park the car without God – they don’t take a shower without God – they don’t go to work without God – yes, they think that everything revolves around God!
Apostle Paul was a man who knew God and walked in the power of God. We know that he believed that everything revolved around God by his own words, for he said, “For from him (God) and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. Romans 11:36
Indeed, there is nothing that you see or have seen, or even know that did not first originate inside of God. Paul told the Colossian church that, “He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For him, all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him, all things hold together. Col 1:15-17
Those who know God see everything as revolving around God. Their favorite thing in life is God! Their every breath and every move centers around who God is and what he cares about. Listen to these words from King David; I think they say it all.
1Chron 29:10-13 “Praise be to you, O LORD, God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. 11 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. 12 Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. 13 Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.
Knowing God is a growing process. No one has arrived! But, one thing I know about those who genuinely know God…
