His Worth

When a president or distinguished leader enters a room, out of respect, they are often greeted with a standing ovation from the audience. Sometimes this is deserved, and other times not. Though there have been many great people throughout history, One stands out above them all. There is One who deserves a standing ovation like none other!

1 Chronicles 29:11-13  Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things. Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion, people are made great and given strength. “O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name! (NLT)

I know that we can’t fathom the fullest extent of the glory and greatness of our God, but based on the little that we do know, we can unreservedly say that He alone deserves our highest praise!

Romans 11:33-36 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments and his paths beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” “Who has ever given to God that God should repay him?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

There are no words to adequately describe how beautiful and wonderful our God is! To fathom that we are everything to him – his dream come true is staggering! How can that be? How could someone so great love us enough to send his only Son as a sacrifice so that we could be reconciled back to him? He is unbelievably beautiful and beyond wonderful!

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, David wrote a song declaring God’s worth. He wrote, “Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD. Psalm 150:1-6

Oh, yes! God is worthy of crazy, passionate praise! Indeed, no one is like him; there is no one above him and no one we should honor more than him! Because of who we are in Christ, praise to God is how we should live!

Romans 12:1 Live consistent with who you really are, inspired by the loving-kindness of God. My brothers, the most practical expression of worship is to make your bodies available to him as a living sacrifice; this pleases him more than any religious routine. He desires to find visible, individual expression in your person. (Mirror Bible)

Only a revelation of the immensity of God’s love and provision for us can enable us to give God the praise he deserves! Without a doubt, it is God alone who deserves the most intense and powerful standing ovation! May the standing ovation we give to God be that of our lives given over to him, fully surrendered to his precious love for us! May we let go and fully believe him! May the completeness of our surrender to his love and grace be our passionate declaration of…
